n Architecture Inc, a progressive Architecture firm based in the GTA has worked on various Gas Stations throughout Canada, some of which are in the Niagara region. A few of these gas stations are now complete and functional and can be found in Welland, Pelham and Thorold.

The gas station in Pelham, which is a Branded Shell, sits on a 1.5acres site which is developed to have a 4 pump gas canopy along with a brand new convenience store. Strict Corporate Shell standards including the Bulk Vehicle Route (BVR- Fuel Truck Route), Safety standards etc were adhered to while planning this development.

The gas station site in Thorold, which is a PetroCanada Gas station has an area of about 5 acres and has a 4 pump gas canopy, a convenience store and a Tim Horton’s café’. The current development which is Phase 1 is now complete and functional. Phase 2 of the project includes 2 restaurant pads and is currently undergoing design development.

The gas station in Welland, which is a branded Shell again , is a 0.35 acres site with a 3 pump gas canopy, a convenience store and a Pizza Pizza.

All the projects successfully underwent Site Plan Approval and Building Permit approval to obtain approval from all the concerned authorities having jurisdiction.
We have further sites under development in the Niagara region which we hope to feature on our website soon.

n Architecture Inc. was commissioned to work on this project in 2014. Amalgamating the exterior design philosophies of two iconic brands – McDonald’s and Petro Canada was an interesting design exercise, however in the end a lot of common ground was found which resulted in this final design.

The McDonald’s branding was presented in grey and trademark red, while the Petro Canada trade mark signage was emphasized with a contrasting white background that pops it out to the eye of the viewer. The geometrical composition of the structure reflects the functionality as the transition between the convenience store and the McDonald’s restaurant.

The proposed Gas Station site in Coboconk, was designed for our Client Mr Hardeep Grewal.

The site lays on the intersection of Highway 35 and Grandy Rd. It is on the northern tip of Balsam Lake; the home to Canada’s Fresh Water Summit, which is the highest elevation of navigable water in Canada and third highest in the world.

The area of the site is 0.308 acres. The project consists of 3 main elements: Shell Gas Station, Shell Convenience Store, and Tim Horton’s Café. The design of the proposed C-Store and Coffee Shop was designed to have an alternating vibe of modernity and local architecture.

The volume’s cladding merges this sense through the integration of stone with Hardie Boards & Panels and at the same time the diversity in the colour palette used in the façade was to show both Shell and Tim Horton’s graphical identity. n Architecture Inc. worked on the design of this project to reach a harmonious design satisfying both companies’ desired theme.

The Shell branding was presented in white and yellow, the Tim Horton’s trade mark emphasized on the signage has a contrasting background that pops it out to the eye of the viewer. The geometrical composition of the structure reflects the functionality of the volume as the entrance cuts through a glass aisle joining the C-Store and the Coffee Shop.

As the end of the year approaches, we would like to present the current under construction projects from n Architecture Inc. 2018 was a very busy year for n Architecture Inc., with a total of 16 projects currently undergoing construction and/or renovations. These projects vary from temples, car wash, hotels and offices to industrial buildings and restaurants and are located in different provinces dealing with various number of construction companies. Each and every one of these projects requires a number of site visits and written reports to be sent until the construction is completed as per the approved drawings and compliant with the Ontario Building Code. While these projects are presently all at different stages of construction, for example, some are just starting while others are ready to be signed off; we are all excited to see the final results. Finally, as the new year approaches, we wish that 2019 will be filled with even more projects and construction activity…!
