n Architecture Inc. was commissioned in 2015 to design a new 2-storey Banquet Hall located in the intersection of Queen St. East and Auction Lane with a total GFA of approximately 24,500 sq.ft.

The façade of the proposed Event Centre has evolved over time and the updated façade is elegantly finished with brick, wood textured siding, EIFS and curtain wall glazing system.

The main Hall area is approximately 13,279 sq.ft. which is divided into three areas by a folding partition door into three equal Halls. Hall ‘B’ located in the middle hall consists of the main bar area and it is adjacent to the main kitchen. Halls ‘A’ and ‘C’ located on the adjacent side of Hall ‘B’ consists of the secondary bar areas and the access to the upper level. The upper level consists of a mezzanine area approximately 2400 sq.ft. open to below and bridal change rooms located on each end.

The building encapsulates a spacious interior with 2 mezzanines that become the spatial organizers between the event space and offices. Thus, a play on the 3-dimensional volume is well-executed to enhance the visitor experience.

The entrance expresses a welcoming lobby with a stunning aesthetic that stretches into the event space through the intricate detailing of the interior elements. Interior design by others.

Construction has been completed. n Architecture had been retained to handle Contract Administration for the project while construction activities were ongoing.

Site Area: 3.08 Acres

Number of Storeys: 2

Status: Construction Completed

The Dixon Road area in Toronto is known for its rich context as it hosts a large number of Hotels and a wide variety of major corporations, services and attractions. The location of the hotel blends into its context as the adjacent lots have uses in common with the project site. It is surrounded by the Toronto Airport Marriott, Sheraton, CarlingView and The Westin Hotels.

The Hotel was originally a Travelodge Hotel that has been converted to a DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton; built since 1984 in Etobicoke, Ontario. The site lays on the intersection of Carlingview Drive and Dixon Road. DoubleTree is on the Eastern tip of Toronto Pearson International Airport with exotic views to the city and nature as it also faces the nearby Royal Woodbine Golf Club. It is just a 5-minute drive to the airport.

DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Airport is a stylish hotel with contemporary comforts. However, due to the modern storm of architectural technology and materials, a change in the existing structure’s materials was requested.

n Architecture Inc designed a new perspective for the revival and to maintain the high level standards of the DoubleTree by Hilton Style. This was by executing changes to the design of the parapet and integrating Stucco Material on the elevations, of different colours, providing the viewer with a vibrant image of the DoubleTree Hotel Building.

Address: 925 Dixon Road, Etobicoke, ON

Commissioned in: 2019

Scope of Work: Concept Design

n Architecture Inc. is progressive Architecture firm in the Greater Toronto Area.

Holiday Inn Express in Halifax is located in the vicinity of Halifax Stanfield International Airport and is 30 km away from the Halifax city centre.
The Hotel management wanted to increase the capacity of the existing Hotel unit and because of which an extension was proposed to meet the needs of the Hotel Management. This extension was built on site as a complementary addition to the existing building in order to perfectly blend embracing the latter’s unique identity. The structure of the new building was constructed with ICF structure (Insulated concrete forms), which satisfied the visual approach with the innovative implementation of structural technology.

The proposed structure is a 6 storey addition, it adds 5 guest rooms on each floor and a total of 30 rooms. n Architecture Inc was also responsible for the design and renovation of the interiors of the existing hotel.
As a whole, the extension merges the existing image of the Holiday Inn Halifax Hotel with an embedded sense of technology and modernism reflected in its structure, façade and interiors.

Scope of Work: Addition and interior renovation to existing hotel

Status: Under construction as of December 2018

Aspirations of a small Church culminated into the design of this mixed use building that will thrive on the creative use of coloured glass and an innovative façade. Currently located on a tight urban site in Toronto the church was looking to expand. They wanted a bigger sanctuary area for their growing congregation, a retail space that would generate passive income and a retirement component that would ensure that the elderly members of the church were well taken care of.

Facing a really tight street, it was decided from the onset of the project that two side elevations (and not the front) would be the area of focus. The introduction of the multi coloured glass fins adds interest and a sense of progression to both the pedestrians and the motorists alike. These coloured fins that draw inspiration from the stained glass windows of the traditional church design also provide privacy to the activities on the upper floors.

This building will have 6 storeys and 2 Basement levels: the retail space will be on the 1st floor, the church on the 2nd and 3rd floors ,4th, 5th &6th floors will have the retirement component and there will be two storeys of underground parking.

Status: Design Phase
