n Architecture Inc. was commissioned to design a Retirement Residence in Richmond Hill, Ontario in an Existing Retirement Home Community, with a number of buildings dedicated solely to Seniors. The proposed development is a ten storey residential building with 246 units.

The design vision was to create a 10-storey mid-rise Retirement Home that would contribute to the urban intensification goals of the Town. It would also reinforce a pedestrian-scaled, urban street edge, with respect to the ravine and existing and proposed neighbours’ buildings in the context.

The Introduction of a podium, provision of underground parking and with limited surface parking located away from street view ensures that an appropriate built form interface within the existing neighbourhood is achieved. High quality landscape features, especially the free style landscape in front yard that extending into the Gym and Coffee enhances the beauty of Yonge Street, providing an enlarged, attractive and vibrant streetscape.

The play of materials used in the building façade brings different depth perceptions in the building. The materials are Dark Gray Stucco in the podium, Red Brick and Brown Red Hardie Board in the middle portion, Precast White Concrete and Metal Panels in the upper portion.

n Architecture Inc is a progressive Architecture firm based in the Greater Toronto Area.

n Architecture Inc. was commissioned to design an apartment building in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario. The proposed development is a 12-storey apartment building. The building has a gross floor area of approximately 100,000 sq.ft. with 99 residential units from the 2nd to 12th floor. There is one level of underground parking in addition to stilt parking and surface level parking. The development includes amenities such as a gym, party room, games room, reading room, and an office on the ground floor for residents to utilize.

The design of the building reflects the shape of the curved roads that surround the site. The building’s shape mimics these curves to form a unique rounded and triangular form.

Materials vary within the design to help compartmentalize the 12 storey mass. On the first three floors, dark grey brick is used to help ground the building visually and include white mouldings that run horizontally across the first floor and green glazed louvres along the windows on the third floor which provide architectural accents.

n Architecture Inc. was commissioned in 2018 to design a new 2-storey Mansion located in 26 Michelangelo Blvd., Brampton, Ontario with a total GFA of 15,000.00 sq.ft.

Light is the soul of architectural space, so we designed a building exterior with generous windows and fenestration to encapsulate natural light within the interior. The house has two stories, each separated based on the nature of its function and activities. The ground floor is a semi-private area with the family spaces, as well as amenities. The second floor is a more secluded space containing the master bedrooms, with terraces overlooking the surroundings.

The materials on the building exterior are elegantly allocated, and are comprised of dark stone cladding, brick, white stone, horizontal wood panels, and glass handrails. The windows are transparent glass with dark bronze insert panels.

Address: 26 Michelangelo Boulevard, Brampton, ON

n Architecture Inc. was commissioned to design a residential building in Chatham, Ontario. The development proposes a 13 storey residential apartment dwelling at 320 Grand Avenue East, backing onto Thames River. The building has a gross floor area of 196,912 sq.ft, with 182 residential units across 12 floors, and stilt parking on the ground level. The main entrance to the site is located off Grand Avenue east leading into the development. There are 222 parking spaces on the site, with 29 spaces located on the ground floor of the apartment building. Residential units within the apartment dwelling range between one to three bedroom units, including a variety of units with dens and a percentage of units designed to be barrier-free. The development includes amenities such as a gym, lockers, office, activity room, and a party room for residents to utilize.

The building’s design incorporates several of materials in complementary colours to bring a vibrant built form that overlooks the Town of Chatham-Kent. Materials such as brick, stucco and limestone are used to provide a variety of texture and scale across the façade. The base of the building is designed with light cream coloured limestone, a sturdy material that helps to visually ground the 13 storey building. Above the base, red and black brick are used to bring contrast in colour and scale which extend vertically along the façade to draw the eye up. On the top floors of the apartment building, light cream coloured stucco is used to provide a sense of lightness to the building’s mass. In the centre of the façade, light cream stucco is used for the portal that is designed to create a focal point along the midpoint on each face of the building.

n Architecture Inc. was commissioned to design an apartment building in Uxbridge, Ontario. The proposed development is a 7-storey apartment building. The building has a gross floor area of 10374.8 sq.m./111673.4 sq.ft. with 90 residential units from the 3rd to 7th floor. The Parking spaces are located from the basement to the 3rd floor level. All parking spaces for the residential units are above or outside the floodplain.

The development includes amenities such as a gym, party room, lockers and an administration office on the ground floor for residents to utilize.

The building exterior is a synergy of contemporary architecture with timeless elements. The façade incorporates aesthetically arranged brick material with diverse colours and uniqueness.

The upper most floor exhibits a wooden canopy that wraps around the open space to provide shade and co-existence with nature for the visitors of the space. The usage of wood with intricate detailing guarantees the satiety of the humanistic need to be connected with nature.

The glazing on the façade display permeable spaces for transparency and acceptance to natural light. The linear horizontal lines, the vast cantilevered roof form weave around the corner, and expanses of glass blur the spatial boundaries between the residents and the surrounding landscape.

The Town of Hanover is a vibrant, progressive municipality within the County of Grey, a small municipality of 7,100 residents featuring large urban services and attractions in a pleasing rural region. Hanover is located in southwestern Ontario, only a thirty minute drive, west to the beach on Lake Huron and North to the Blue Mountains in Beaver Valley.

n Architecture Inc. took on this project in 2019. Being a progressive and innovative practice in the Greater Toronto Area, this assignment was truly an enriching project. The development was to exacerbate the heritage of the area while in parallel serving as a residential condominium.

The proposed development is a new seven storey with a basement and underground parking rental Condominium located at 223, 10th Street in Hanover. The building has a gross floor area of 117,500 sq.ft. 7 Storeys of residential units, and 18 suites per typical floor with a total of 109 residential apartments. On the ground level lies a retail area of 1250 sq.ft .

Expressing an excitement of spatial division, the building offers a wide range of amenities for the residents to enjoy and utilize. Starting with offices and meeting rooms on the ground floor, 1 to 2 bedroom suites, gym and a yoga area with lockers, as well as a party room and gathering space for recreational and leisure activities then finally a roof top patio with a barbecue area.

Contemporary in its expression, the calm and sculptural exterior façades with their elegant cladding are enlivened by the interplay of the envelope the building. Perforations in the building exterior add visual interest and serve to break up the main façade, providing views to the outside yet retaining privacy.

The building exterior has a mixture of modern/contemporary and traditional design with stone veneer wrapped around the ground floor, while pertaining a modern look of aluminum composite panels (ACP) with red and beige brick finishes, being in harmony with the local style of Architecture. For the focus on framing the amazing views, large picture windows are arranged as a sequence to capture the grand moments of the town. The framed views were determined from the interior spaces of the units as a way of bringing the city into the residences without exposing its occupants.

n Architecture Inc. presented a building that perfectly blends in the urban environment; as it is erected in the site to fit the existing urban typology, relating to the various influences of the surroundings. The elevations fuse into the surrounding landscape to cause particular movements which merge with the ongoing vehicular activity and pedestrian pursuit.

Brampton, Canada’s Flower City! Brampton is a municipality within Peel region, not far from Toronto. It is a big city, with a small-town feel, rich in green natural spaces and historic landmarks. The province of Ontario has designated the city of Brampton as an urban growth area and is one of Canada’s fastest growing cities. The city of Brampton is expected to see its population reach 725,000 residents by the year 2031. Brampton has become a popular city to call home for many young professionals and families because of its central location and proximity to major highways, connecting residents to Toronto and other areas of the GTA. Brampton is very pedestrian and bike friendly, with its old-fashioned street lamps and signs. The city also boasts an impressive transit system with Brampton Zum and a LRT project in the works and is also home to a GO transit and VIA Rail station. In 2017, 13% of all residential real estate sales in Brampton were condo sales. Resale condos also sold exceptionally well during this time, making Brampton a great city for investors to invest in.

Our subject site at a major intersection in Brampton is comprised of one (1) parcel measuring approximately 0.18 hectares (0.44 acres), with a street frontage of approximately 35.05 meters (115.09 feet) along the west side of the Main Road and 51.92 meters (170.34 feet) along the south side of the Adjacent Road. The property is currently occupied by a 1-storey single detached residential dwelling. It is surrounded by similar single detached and semi-detached residential dwellings to the north and west.

The property owner is desirous of redeveloping the subject site for a new residential (Condo /Rental) apartment building.
